Petroleum Exploration Pvt. Limited (PEL) as a prudent operator in private sector, is planning to spud an
exploratory well Ibrahim-1 in its Salam Exploration License, located in Ghotki District of Sindh province.
PEL is 100% Stake Holder in exploration license. The well is planned to be drilled down to +1500 meters to
test the hydrocarbon potential of Sui Main Lime Stone (SML) reservoir, as proven by multi TCF discoveries in
its vicinity.
It is pertinent to mention that PEL as operator acquired 137 line km 2D seismic data in the most
geographically hostile environment as against a commitment of 35 line km, commissioned a number of G&G
studies through credible International consultants and after detailed in-house working, Ibrahim structure
has been delineated.
PEL’s Operation workforce is working rigorously to complete the access track and construct the elevated
platform for drilling of well in order to spud in last week of January 2021 and complete it within the
stipulated weather window.
More than a decade of perseverance and after relentlessly enduring the ravages of Indus River floods,
finally the dream of an optimal drilling location has come true and it is with profound gratitude to ALLAH
Almighty that with HIS infinite graciousness and mercy, a location of Ibrahim-1 Well has been staked by
PEL’s team of professionals on November 20, 2020. The venture can rightly be termed as flagship exploratory
enterprise of PEL ,anticipating sizeable reserves, involving 100% private equity.
